Employment Opportunities
Potato Operations Team Leader
A full-time, hands-on position for an
enthusiastic, mechanically minded
person to lead a small team
producing salad potatoes, from
planting through to harvesting and
maintenance.
We are currently growing 400 acres of Maris Peer potatoes which are all packed and marketed by our own co-operative, Fresh Growers. Seed is grown for us in Scotland, and delivered approx 1 month before planting to our cold store. Planting commences in early March, where fleece is used for frost protection, and continues through to the end of May. All of our potatoes are sold as 'fresh dug' and harvested daily to order. Harvesting starts at the end of June using a self-propelled bunker harvester and continues through to the end of October. All the machinery is then overhauled in the workshop ready for the next season.

We are currently irrigating approximately 1000 acres of root crops annually - carrots, salad potatoes and onions.
